At ProAdventure and Llangollen Climbing Centre we want to do more than help you enjoy nature, so we have chosen to put something back.
 
 We are now a contracted member of www.onepercentfortheplanet.org which commits us to giving one percent of our entire turnover to environmental charities and not for profit organisations.
 
 Part of this will money will go towards carbon reduction/offsets which in combination with our policies of carbon and waste reduction will make us at least carbon neutral as a company. Beyond that we will give to local environmental and conservation work.
 
 Why one percent of turnover? A percentage of profits would be easily manipulated, so the founders of one percent for the planet decided on one percent of the turnover. Even if we make a loss the environment will still be a little better for your help through booking or buying with ProAdventure.
 
During 2008, as part of our 1% For The Planet commitment, we donated£4000 to help start the Llangollen and Dee Valley Low Carbon Trust - a new community-based project in conjunction with Friends of the Earth, which aims to face the challenges of climate change and move Llangollen and the surrounding areas towards long term carbon neutrality, whilst also providing economic and community benefits. We look forward to being able to donate more money to the environment this year!
 
 In addition to this we are members of the Welsh Green Dragon Scheme for environmentally responsible business.
